Is this happening with software rendering or NVENC? 4K or 1080P? Studio Driver installed? (Nvidia)

I have no experience of this but a little research comes up with:

The XT2 shoots video in MOD format.

There are well known problems with this format. It might be worth converting a copy of your an original file, converting first to MP4 and then render to what you prefer.

I think Media Info's functionality is also included in the excellent MPC video player, so if you already have that just open the file and take a look at the properties.

Many, but not all .MOD files will open in Vegas by changing the extension to .MPG

From your description, the file is AVC and NOT MPEG2. Plus, if you look at the XT2 specs in this DpReview https://www.dpreview.com/news/8595291296/now-with-4k-fujifilm-x-t2-offers-24mp-improved-af-and-video-specs, you will find that it only records in these formats "MPEG-4, H.264" and not MPEG2. The conversion software suggested will NOT work for your intended purpose.
