The last Vegas Pro released by Sony before they sold the product line to MAGIX was Sony Vegas Pro 13; therefore, if you have Sony Vegas Pro it must be version 13 or earlier. If that is the case, have you had Vegas Pro 13 or earlier working before? And has anything recently changed like a new computer?
If you have acquired a later version (14 to 19) of Vegas Pro that is called Sony Vegas Pro, then it is almost certainly a pirated version.

@Sidney-Ash Have a look in the folder C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0, have a look for a BAK file or there might be a VEG file, tell it to open with Vegas Pro, In future get used to saving your project immediately before any editing is done, you can then click the sav button top left when you want & it will update that saved project or you can go to Tools - Advanced Save, turn on Live save, this will then save after every edit,
From your screenshot, you have Vegas Pro 19, not a Sony Product.
You can say with almost 100% certainty that a user who names Vegas Pro19 as Sony Vegas, is using an illegal copy. A legal user would say at least Magix Vegas Pro.
I don't understand that such users still receive help and are even welcomed here without given prove, even from long-term Forum members....😞
Benefit of the doubt is a decent thing. After all these years, even the most recent BCC documentation refers to Sony Vegas 65 times in 31 different html files. And it has a chapter called "Working in Sony Vegas".
I like to give first-time posters the benefit of the doubt, once.
The "Sony Vegas" meme goes back many years, people do not automatically abandon it until they are shown the difference.
A long-time Vegas user, means a Vegas user before version 13, Iike myself and many others of us. I even would forgive to make that naming mistake. But a first time poster here who makes that mistake..., I have no doubt.
I would propose that every first time poster who still names Magix Vegaspro, Sony Vegaspro has to prove his/her legal Vegasversion first before welcomed and further helped.
The moderators have tools to help them make that determination; it's a job better left to them. As free agents, we can each use our discretion in deciding which posts are deserving of our help. I admit, I got really sucked in during 2020, and have learned to be more skeptical; hopefully not to enable the uninvested.

I just got a survey from NewBlue. It asked what NLE I used and one of the multiple-choice checkboxes was for Sony Vegas. I checked other and wrote Vegas Pro (Magix).
@Musicvid it has already often been discussed before and is laid down in the forum rules, that this forum doesn't help users of illegal and pirated Vegasversions. I just would appreciate when every kind helper (it's not about you) here would stick to that rule and in case of doubt, don't give the benefit of doubt but direct them first to a moderator, before starting to help.
It’s simple, possibly the Author here made a simple “sloppy” mistake, I’ve got a BSc in that discipline. However, might I strongly suggest that prior to getting FULL access to this forum there’s a checklist that requires a new participant to register their bona Fides, meaning a registered copy of any and ALL versions of VegasPro including SONY too, to gain access rights and then further checks to gain “questioning” rights. A kind of sliding scale of access. Not to have this will make us all keep spinning around and around this particular Twister forever. Most other, non-ownership newbie questions can be answered by: Download the Demo and see if it’s good for you?
My attitude changed the day that this became a public, not a registered user forum. No matter who wears a tin badge, we can't have it both ways. Do you know that a couple of rather prolific confabulators here are deepfakes who have never produced a video? In certain parts of the globe, it's considered a badge of honor to be a software con artist; gaming and tech forums are full of 'em. Do you know that I don't own a professional camera?
In another thread, please. This discussion is off topic. (Discussed not too long ago in this closed thread. 90 comments after the OP from Grazie there.)

@Musicvid - I wouldn’t be surprised. Having cut my teeth on Wedding Vids and got myself into the local government infomercials and the National Lottery Video Reporting, we all come to this creative craft in various ways and develop in a multitude of ways.

@Musicvid - All part of Life’s Rich Curtaining Materials 😉.
Do you know that I don't own a professional camera?
@Musicvid - You don’t need to. Your professional Camera is your eye and huge cinematic Brain. Also, sometimes NOT having kit is an advantage. I’ve got a KeyBoard which clearly states what to press to get Focus BACK to the Timeline, and I completely ignored it!
@bvideo Boris doesn't seem to want to even update their supported graphics card list, which I asked about over a year ago...they are a poor example to use...
This thread is closed as it's gone off topic. The OP is advised to create a new post if he/she has a legitimate version of VEGAS Pro 19 (see the screenshot) from MAGIX (regarding Sony/MAGIX versions see @Dexcon's comment above).
