I have been able to look into this today and did indeed find a GDI resource leak when drawing the event speed and event pitch info. I am unsure if the fix will be able to make it into update 1 (which is coming out soon), but it will be fixed in the near future.

On build 424 I am still experiencing this issue. Has it been resolved for anyone?

I do not have the issue any more, just played a previously troublesome project with time stretch and it plays fine with no corruption in the UI. Latest build.

Experiencing ui corruption with no media in time line, just wobble the cursor over my explorer panel and the text dissapears, reappears zoomed in and blurry. Try to drop even a still in and it crashes when playing. Ugh, cmon update 🙏

@TIMOTHY-COWDIN There have been two update releases issued since this thread began, and you haven't shared which release you are on. Please don't be shy and begin your own thread for your issue, which may or may not be related. You will get a better response by doing so, and by including the required information; thanks.

Latest build installed on a brand new windows 11 system w an Amd ryzen 7 and Nvidia 3070. This thread seemed to be relevant as this is the exact issue I'm experiencing, perhaps the fix would apply to me? Series of events: installed, worked ok but very slow. IMPORTANT UPDATE downloaded and installed, sorry, this won't work on your computer. Sigh. New desktop purchased, latest version installed, immediate crashes and glitches. Seems like I'm putting in a fair about of work to get this running 🤷‍♂️

Let me rephrase: Since there have been two update releases since the thread began, and an update fix was indicated, you may get a better response by starting a new thread. Of course, you may get a response here; it's your choice.

Either way, we like to start with your exact system, version, and driver information (as well as file specifics if relevant), as there are unrelated issues that can masquerade themselves as something you've read about.

I don't know the answer to your question, and if you just wish to share anecdotes, someone may hit upon the answer (it "has" happened!). Best of luck, and welcome to the forum.

Not sure what anecdote ive shared, I purchased the software and it doesn't work now, I suspect as a result of the upgrade. the build is 424.im just trying to use the software. Honestly, kind of a salty response to a paying customer.

@TIMOTHY-COWDIN
We are a user-to-user forum here, and I'm with @Musicvid all the way, as real problem solving can usually only work with a good database.
You are lucky that @vkmast made a 1000 guilder shot.
I'm still glad that you could be helped.
But in the future, please open your own thread - these threads are also meant as a reference work for future problems of other users - and in such cases they usually completely diverge, which doesn't help anyone.

TIMOTHY-COWDIN wrote on 11/13/2021, 3:06 PM

Thanks, I guess? The benefit of a public forum is that others who've experienced similar circumstances and potential solutions can share em, and I've certainly reaped the reward in that regard. I followed the "protocol" of ticket submission and I'm still waiting for a reply, so I guess file that where you will. Edit: we're talking about a contract here, in exchange for working software, I pay money. I've recommended previous versions of vegas more times than I could possibly count, I personally purchased several copies and have successfully convinced many others to do the same. Given the opportunity, I'll continue to do so. Again HUGE thanks to vkmast for the help, looking forward to putting this tool to use.

Appreciate the feedback. I may have some additional VST chains on my audio files that further complicate things. VP19 straight-up crashes as I try to open most versions of the project file. Currently trying to roll the dice to use VP18 to get into it for a few seconds to delete the back half of the timeline so that I can save a temporary version, clean that up, repeat for the other half, and then recombine down the road. Oh well!

Bumping this thread as the latest "update" has rendered my legal legit copy of pro 19 useless once again. Build 643, did the set to false trick that worked last time and still nada. Disappointed but not surprised at this point.

Edit: fixed by setting dynamic ram preview to 0. Please stop breaking stuff w updates 🙌

Please stop breaking stuff w updates 🙌

This is difficult, if not impossible to accomplish.
With continuous delivery as an enacted upgrade policy, each in between versions update will bring new features and functionalities, together with the regular fixing maintenance.

More so with a complex motherboard-like software tool like NLEs are, where we users need to place and utilize an unending variation of plugins, FX and diverse content, sourced from evolving platforms, formats, cameras, whatnot... so the interconnectedness of it all means that each Update change may affect many areas.

Therefore comes the need that each big intra-version Update released allows for VEGAS' wide user community to revise its functionality and perform workflow hands-on checks at our end. Something that could hardly be replicated by the developers themselves and a Beta test team.

If necessary, a minor update patch should be later released, ensuring that minor issues and side effects introduced in that version are fixed an taken care of.
Non expecting updates issues is unfeasible, and not fixing those is irresponsible.

TIMOTHY-COWDIN wrote on 8/10/2022, 9:26 PM

I used my copy of vegas 12 to accomplish what I needed. So, yes, it is possible. If settings have been changed, those changes exist in a log or config somewhere. When we are forced to "upgrade," those changes should be applied to the latest revision. Again, quit breaking the software I was forced to fix. Please and thank you. I work for a very large legal firm and have not felt comfortable recommending they adopt the vegas platform for this very reason. Give me a couple updates that don't bork my interface and I may feel differently.
