I guess you could try "ONLINE LIVE CHAT: "Pre-sales and registration help is available via online live chat from 12pm-4pm U.S. Central Standard Time [weekdays]. Go to https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/  and click the chat bubble in the bottom right corner."

If they are available today, the Chat bubble should pop up in less than an hour there.

Thanks, The exact message reads "an error occurred during the current operation. .A device does not exist."

Any solutions?

@Harold-Parker When you installed Vegas Movie Studio Platinum (there is no Vegas Movie Edit Platinum) was there something connected to your pc which is no longer connected?

@Harold-Parker Ok let's clarify what exactly you are doing when you say "but as soon as I try to use it" . Has your Movie Studio Platinum fully opened and you are trying to edit, render or what? Or does it fail to open. Also which version and build are you using?

I am past the problem I was having. I had Magic Movie edit 14 and could not get the activation code it made me purchase to work. I am out $4.95 already, so I purchase the Movie studio 16 platinum and it does not give me an option to burn my simple slideshow with music to DVD. Why have a movie studio that wont do this? what am I missing? I looked at the online tutorial and when it showed to export options, DVD was an option on the video but not on my Platinum program. I either need Magix to give me a working activation to burn a dvd on Movie edit 14 or I need to know how to burn a dvd in Movie Studio 16 platinum. Please help or tekk me the phone number to tech support for Vegas.

Magix Movie Edit has zero to do with Vegas. This forum supports Vegas Movie Studio, including Platinum.

I purchase the Movie studio 16 platinum and it does not give me an option to burn my simple slideshow with music to DVD.

Not so.

As you can see in the product comparison, DVD / Bluray burning can be done from the Vegas Movie Studio Platinum timeline. DVD /Bluray authoring is done within DVD Architect, a separate purchase and installation. All Vegas software has a free trial, so there should be no surprises.

@Harold-Parker

  1. Make sure you are in Power User Mode. The Welcome Screen gives you the option bottom right.
  2. Insert/Slideshow helps create slideshows
  3. The top toolbar Make Movie button gives you the option "Burn to a DVD or Blu-ray Disc"
  4. As Musicvid mentioned DVD Architect is involved so you need to have that installed. It's a separate programme that you get with VMS Platinum.
