Vegas Movie Studio 16 suite says my serial number is no good

I bought the software from Best Buy a couple months ago. Never opened the box. I finally found some time to start editing videos so I downloaded the software and it says my code is invalid. Please help . I just opened the box and Its says Vegas Movie Studio 16 suite. I don't have a disc drive so I just downloaded the software. I can send scans of documentation or w.e as proof.

@Michael-Lawrence While you are waiting for a response from Customer Service a few suggestions/comments.

VMS16 Suite contains VMS16 Platinum (editing programme) plus DVDArchitect (Disc burning programme) plus extra third party items, from New Blue. Each has a serial number. So make sure you are using the correct number. VMS16 Plat and DVDA start with P3 followed by six blocks of five digits separated by dashes. You probably have different numbers for VMS16 Plat and DVDA in which case don't mix them up.

Presumably you downloaded VMS16 Platinum in which case you can run it as a trial for 30 days and then when you get the serial number sorted out activate it properly. You don't need to download it again. The trial is fully functional apart from a two minute timeline limitation when you come to export.

It should not be that hard to find help. Support is available 4 hours a day weekdays only? Ill just buy a different software. Im not jumping through hoops to use something

Looks like too much information. You see, according to the Best Buy website, they do not sell a boxed media version, only digital. This may have been the case since Vegas' ownership moved overseas.

But even if someone buys a download elsewhere, and the number turns out to be bogus, Magix has been known to work with them. You see, they want your business, and hope you purchase an upgrade from them eventually.

So do make the effort to contact them, nicely of course, and explain the situation. Getting stuck with a purchase is not a sin, and usually people will understand. But no, we can't contact anyone on your behalf through the forum. However, someone from Magix may be reading, and initiate contact with you.
