Vegas Movie Studio vs. Platinum -Trimmer. Other feaures that justify?

I was watching a Steve Grisetti tutorial on Vegas Movie Studio and he demonstrated a very cool feature called the "Trimmer". I'm sure you all know what it is. But I was trying to follow along using my trial and came to realize I couldn't do it. And found out it is available in the Platinum Edition not the "standard" if that is what my trial version is called.

I then found out that, with the discount going on, the Platinum is now only $10 more than the standard edition. Am I wrong in that this seems like a "no brainer"? the trimmer feature seems like it alone would save enough time to warrant the extra $10.

What other features does Platinum have that I should know about? Please don't send me to the comparison chart. The listed features that Paltinum has I probably won't appreciate. If I had looked at the chart before learning about Trimmer I wouldn't have know what it is.

As most of us using Platinum have probably never used the basic version the Comparison chart is probably the best answer you will get. Suggest you download the 30 day trial and find out for yourself whether its additional features are of use to you.

I'd suggest you go straight to Platinum and don't look back.

Well, that's just what I did, "go straight to Platinum". I have most of the month of my trial left but I went ahead and just bought the Platinum version. You guys will be sorry. I'm going to be now bugging the @#$% out of you with questions😬 But j-w I will RTFM, first. Just downloaded it.

Well, you made the right decision, and vkmast and others are the most patient teachers I know.

That said, I would never buy a piece of editing software based on something as meh as a trimmer. Haven't touched it in a decade.

I have two versions of Pro as well as MSP. The latter is all that is needed for 80% of my work.

And I am going to do all I can to test their patience😏

And after I looked at the trimmer it wasn't as helpful as I expected. But Platinum had quite a few features over standard that prompted me to go with it.

As the man said, you won't look back. Be patient with yourself, the learning curve can seem daunting at first.
