I don’t do any serious editing, just a few cuts, cross fades, fade in, fade out etc. Used to have Vegas pro 11 for many years, but for some reason, it wouldn’t install properly in new laptop, so upgraded to 18.
Friend asked if I would edit an old VHS grab to keep for posterity. And so my problem started.
Edited was no problem. Ended up with 42 minutes video. To render, I chose MainConcept MPEG 2>Program Stream PAL and set it to CBR.
Unfortunately, the rendered video ended up compressed to 34 minutes, while the audio did render the full 42 minutes. The video was all there but way out of sync. No idea how the video compressed so much.
Have I chosen the wrong settings to render or what other factors could have caused this?
I also tried to render to MP4 with settings MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4>Internet HD 1080 25 fps, with similar result.
Could anyone point this old man of 80 in the right path please.
I’ve digitized all my tapes many many years ago. I would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
