Video preview and rendering bug

Alexvee wrote on 10/1/2020, 12:28 PM

Hi there,

So I'm experiencing a weird issue. I did a project with the same video format as the video I edited ( 1920x1080p HD 25 PAL ) but when I'm rendering it with again the same video format, the video is cropped with black borders (see screenshot).

As you can also see in the screenshot, in vegas we can see the preview and display of my video is not the same as my project... so I'm guessing that's the issue but I've already try to remove the 'scale video to fit preview window and played with multiple setting, nothing works.

I recorded this video on OBS studio streaming and when I play this video unedited, it's showing full screen, not cropped. So it's a problem with Vegas.

Oh and by the way, I already edited another video and everything went well. I'm using the newest version of vegas studio platinum.

Thanks,

Alexandre

Show us the mediaInfo of that OBS sourcefile you used following this

BTW You asked this on the Pro forum, that's not the right one.

Did you put your Video on a PIP track instead of VIDEO track?

Moving this to the Movie Studio forum.

@Alexvee What you did is what @Musicvid said: you put the video on the PIP track instead of the video track. Due to setting the split screen view to FX Bypassed you don't see the result of this in the preview and only after rendering.

Solution is to deactivate the split screen view and move the video from the PIP track to the video track.
