What am I buying?

After using Adobe Premiere Elements 8 for years to archive old video tapes and editing them for Youtube I am considering upgrading to something newer. Namely VEGAS Movie Studio 16 Platinum. Just not sure what I would be getting. Is it sold as a standalone program or an annual subscription? I can not really tell from the website.

Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 16, as with all Vegas titles, offers a free trial period.
