Which version is best for a weak computer?

Hi all. I'm interested in picking up one of the VEGAS products as an alternative to Premiere Pro and this seemed like a good alternative. On the downloads page, I tried the oldest version of Pro available (13) and I'm stunned by how easy this software is to navigate! Unfortunately, it seems as though buying serials for this version is near impossible. I'm incredibly wary of trying newer versions due to the instability of my PC, which is coming up on being 5 yrs old. I tried the "Elements" version of Photoshop and it slowed my whole unit down, so it's safe to say I didn't even bother trying the Premiere vers.

My PC stats are as follows:

Windows 10 Home vers 1809

Intel Core i7-4790k cpu @ 4.00ghz (8 processors)

16GB RAM

Intel HD Graphics 4600

NVIDIA GeForce 960 GTX

The main tools I need for video software is the ability to speed up footage vastly for things such as art time-lapses and basic things like adding text, basic animations, and spectrum effects. I'm looking into doing Youtube review and let's play videos sometime in the future.

Examples of what I wish to produce as follows:

Any help is very appreciated! I have access to Steam too so I'm potentially looking to buy a version of the software there.

The only versions available from Magix are the most recent ones.

No versions are inherently easier on your system than another. It's all basically the same under the hood.

Some older versions are offered by third party vendors.

Our system specs are nearly the same. Few issues with multiple versions installed here. Although I'm not entering my rig in any races.

Regarding Steam versions, please note. AFAIK most if not all of it still applies.

I've seen mixed reviews here regarding Steam registration constraints..

OTOH, I plopped down a twenty, registered my Humble Bundle version (no extras) with Magix, I am eligible for upgrade pricing, and have it installed on two computers.

Of course,no one knows when there will be another HB promo, but if one can adopt a "wait and pounce" posture, it's worth the patience.

Think also about this one, the best ever made by Vegas and now with a discount of 200 dollars

Ah I totally would wait but I'm hoping to completely drop CC bar Photoshop by the end of the year due to the ridiculous price!

A one off large fee isn't so bad. I'll have a look at performance of trial versions at the start of next week, but thank you for the advice!

I decided to get Pro 15 from amazon for £90! very happy and I didn't realise it came with codes for the filters. I'm excited to begin creating :D
