work flow from HD to DVD and For Pen Drive

hi my name is harry . i am using vegas pro from last 5 years i really love this comparison to adobe premiere pro

the main reason is ease of use ans simple powerful.

here i want to know your experience related to making DVD from HD footage from ( sony and canon camera with 50 p )

what i do ---

i set my project property 1920x1080 with interlaced upper field first with 25 frames with 50 and 60 bit rate.

out put file is still heavy but quality is remains

and i edit and render to MPEG-TS ( .m2t )

Format                         : MPEG Video
Format version                 : Version 2
Format profile                 : Main@High
Format settings, BVOP          : Yes
Format settings, Matrix        : Default
Format settings, GOP           : M=3, N=12
Format settings, picture struc : Frame
Codec ID                       : 2
Duration                       : 11 min 51 s
Bit rate mode                  : Variable
Bit rate                       : 58.4 Mb/s
Maximum bit rate               : 60.0 Mb/s
Width                          : 1 920 pixels
Height                         : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio           : 16:9
Frame rate                     : 25.000 FPS
Color space                    : YUV
Chroma subsampling             : 4:2:0
Bit depth                      : 8 bits
Scan type                      : Interlaced
Scan order                     : Top Field First
Compression mode               : Lossy

then i add this footage to DVD fab Application and you people can not imagine it create folder for DVD with in 7 Minute

it render with 170 to 190 Frames per seconds

and in last i burn this DVD folder in any burner and you can not imagine the quality i got in DVD its marvelous nothing compared

with DVD architecture and any other way

now i have only 1 question

i want this render file into mp4 for play back on tv i want to compressed my big rendered files in mp4 with same field order with

size of maximum 3.5 /GB for 1 hour video

how can i ?

any 3rd party app which convert .m2t into mp4 but remain same field order but fast

i try TMPG enc video master suit it took lots o time approx 1.5 hour to convert for 1 hour video

any other converter also convert field order into progressive and video become jerky while motion scene come

any idea ?

any experience?

thanx for your time

You need to take one question at a time, so as not to complicate your workflow and thought process further.

1. A DVD for you is mpeg-2, 720x576 25i, with a separate ac3 audio track. This is directly from the DVDA PAL Widescreen template, and you render this directly from your camera project, once.

2. Your intermediate render to .m2t is entirely unnecessary and degrades quality, as is burning your folder in DVDFab. If you don't like Architect's Smart Muxer for any reason, your TMPGENC author is a much better alternative.

When you are comfortable with the streamlined workflow, post back with your next question, and we'll take it from there.

for play back for tv.

thanx

The video bit rate for DVD Fab is much higher than for DVDA which explains the quality difference. However the DVDFab bit rate is too high for burning to a regular DVD that will be playable on a standard DVD player. DVD Architect sticks to the correct max bit rate to comply with the normal DVD standard. The DVD Fab files may be playable directly from a Media player but not from a disc.

Your workflow, your anecdotes, and your impressions are 100% opposite of mine, having used DVDA, and other authoring programs for twenty years, especially your redundant render to .m2t. As I suggested, TMPGENC Author is a worthy alternative for some.

Since you reject the most fundamental advice and methodology, and you are using a product that I believe is now banned in the US, you are entirely on your own, and good luck!

Controlled tests and samples with verifiable, duplicable outcomes are always welcome in the Off Topic forum, where I post my own tests at times, although I have no interest at all in reinventing the optical disc.

hello all . first of say thanx to you

2nd the DVD,s render with dvd fab its playable in standard disc player smoothly

and one more reason which attract me that Vegas pro use less time to render .m2t files

and of course quality is the at top of the list

see client does not know which app or which method i use to satisfy his needs related to work he just want good

result and DVD fab give very good result

now i want to know which app is banned in us ? DVD fab ?

2nd i really want to know what is work flow to make video DVD in TMPGENC Author  from vegas pro

mean in which profile i have to render my footage? what will be my project setting if i used 1920x1080 - 50p

and please let me know which software easily and speedy render .m2t to mp4 with amd r9 290 gpu

my rig is

intel i7 4770

32 GB ram

AMD r9 290 gpu

gigabyte h-97, d3h motherboard

for c drive Samsung ssd 840 evo

Thanx again

We don't render to .m2t before making a Dvd. ¡Nunca!

jasmohan-k wrote on 7/7/2018, 4:26 PM

What that mean " nunca"

And why we can not render in this any technical reason this is also use mpeg 2 stream

If you don't like Vegas' built in Mpeg2 encoder, first of all try customizing the settings to match those of the settings you like (just keep in mind, if your total bitrate goes above 9.8mbps, you break compliance and lose compatibility with any DVD player not capable of playing discs above that bitrate. It might work in your computer, in your playstation, but pop it in a set top player, especially an older one, and you will have issues.

Another option is to frameserve out of vegas into another mpeg 2 encoding app that you like better. I personally find Vegas' encoder to be more than sufficient, especially the newer versions.

i am really surprise on you " Musicvid" that you did not do innovation on this

there is lot of way to make dvd from vegas

there is nothing hard and fast rule there but i am surprise why you give more importants only one way ?

i write before i need 2 outputs 1 for dvd

2nd for pen drive

the hd file i render with .m2t i make dvd in dvd fab with in 10 minute

and i find way to make video for tv use in pen drive

it took only 18 to 22 minutes for conversion for 1 hour video in 1 good video converter.

any way thanks i learn some thing from you.

here is 1 big example

i think 1 year back i asked 1 question in this forum that can i render HD video with ( mpeg ) with highest bit rate?

the guy " johny roy " he refuse . he claim vegas pro can not render in mpeg in fully HD

but i did it

i try -do more innovation and it happen

thanx again

JR never said that. He started with HDV mpeg-2 video fifteen years ago, just like I did. YOU have never communicated with JR on these forums.

Controlled tests and samples with verifiable, duplicable outcomes are always welcome in the Off Topic forum, where I post my own tests at times, although I have no interest at all in reinventing the optical disc.

Until then, thanks for telling us your magical, "innovative" story. Again.

Seriously, jasmo, you are posting in a support forum for Vegas.

You've got lots of ideas, but personally I would like to read them in the Off-Topic forum, where you will feel free to say anything you want, within the posting guidelines.

I will suggest moving further discussions on your topic to that forum in the future. Unfortunately, there are standards for making DVD, and i feel i need to stick to them, since I, and others I suspect, plan on sharing our creations with others. Good luck.

Former user wrote on 7/15/2018, 12:54 PM

The way @Musicvid does is the right way. I've always done it that way too.

jasmohan-k wrote on 7/15/2018, 1:50 PM

thanx " Musicvid" but always there is need more exploration as per our need.

i start with this

i have 2 requirement 1 -for DVD 2nd for H.D for t.v

you know with my footage if i use DVD architecture templates it will take 40 ti 45 minutes to render and after take 5 to 7 minutes to burn DVD

again i render with hand brake for tv it took 45 minutes in progersive if i set to default

( if i render with bob deinterlace filter it took 1.25 hour to render

so almost 2 ans 2.45 hours for 1 hour project

with my way

it took 40 minute to render .m2t in HD

7 minute to render for DVD 5 minute to burn

and 15 to 17 minute for render for T.V in M Peg interlaced play back on any T.v

i took 70 minutes for all thing. and quality is far better then DVD architecture.

and question about johnny Roy

i asked a question to him

" can we render 1920x1080 25 in Mpeg P.S ?

he refuse he say Vegas can render only T.S

but as i mentioned its possible we can render Mpeg P.S

thanks

i am finding the link i think i asked this question in creative cow forums

Thanx

this is the screen shot of that where i asked him this question. see his answer.

my question is not that blaming him for wrong advice, but the question is explore more and more for my need in vegas pro to ease my work flow.

Musicvid wrote on 7/15/2018, 6:38 PM

Yes, John Rofrano gave the correct answer there, too.

Fact: .m2t, which is a TS acquisition format, is not a suitable HD delivery format for TV or streaming, nor is any software mpeg-2 stream, for the past several years.

Fact: Second generation HD is not a suitable authoring format for DVD, which prefers compliant streams. Once you have accomplished that (you haven't yet), MUXING in Architect will take 3-4 minutes max.

See you on OT!
