how to change aspect ratio

paul-adams wrote on 6/12/2021, 10:07 PM

Using Movie Studio Platinum 13. Need to make short videos for Spotify Canvas (This is a short vid of 8 seconds that can accompany each of my songs for treaming on Spotify (This is like an album cover...almost). They want MP4 9:16 ratio and at least 720 tall. I don't see how to choose or select this when I make a movie render. Also, I spent quite a bit of time looking to send Magix an email but couldn't find any way?

Thanks

MSP13 is old now and I'm not sure, but can you set the project properties to a 9:16 output such as 720x1280? Then customise a render template to the same.

VEGAS Support starts from "Support New" in the black bar above. User-created advice here and here.

It is simple to create a 720x1280 Portrait video project in MSP13 by typing in the dimensions.

Thanks. I would not have known that 9:16 is 720 x 1080. Real amateur here. I didn't see where there was a choice of "ratio". Wait...maybe I am misunderstanding. the above 720 is the height they required and considered separate from ratio? Was there a place to choose ratio?? Apologies for ignorance and thanks again! Paul

720 divided by nine, then multiplied by 16 equals 1280 (not 1080).

It's a simple arithmetic ratio.
