Woops, that doesn't mean it is current, nor did you say where you bought it.

There is, and never was, a software named "Sony Vegas 16."

Vegas Pro 16 reached its end of life in August of 2019, and hasn't been updated or maintained since.

Your GoPro files are probably newer than that, but if you want further confirmation, you can start here:

Probably the best solution for you is to transcode in Handbrake or another utility, then import to Vegas for editing. Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, i did not know i had to be precise with the Title of the product to get help! Either way you understood what I meant. Why is best buy selling this to the public if it isn't compatible with GoPro video? I am never buying a Vegas or Magix product ever again!

@fracisco-godinho Good question. Personally I consider that Best Buy shouldn't be selling such an old version. But your gripe is against them not Magix or Vegas.

@fracisco-godinho

Something else is going on since I have no problem importing Hero8 4K 60P HEVC files into Vegas 16, Build 424. Playback is dreadful, but at least you can import such files without issue. Are you using 5K files by chance from a Hero9 or Hero10? Providing a MediaInfo screen grab of one of your files would be useful.

@fracisco-godinho Did you disable so4compound in internal preferences? If so, try re-enabling it. Otherwise use software like Handbrake to convert it to regular 8-bit AVC which works fine in VP 16.
