@J.S  ... the driver update screen that you uploaded to the forum earlier shows that you do not have the latest NVIDIA studio driver. It shows that you have installed version 457.49 but the it also shows the latest version being 472.84. Though it may not make any difference, try hitting the download button and install the latest Studio driver.

@J.S I tried your file on the system spec'ed in my signature. Screenshot is while the timeline is playing back. It played back fine and when I rendered out the file, that too was fine. I used AMD VCE to render the file, which was fast.... 102fps.

Musicvid wrote on 1/3/2022, 10:46 AM

Your video appears to be variable frame rate.

@Musicvid - I noted this amongst the MediaInfo:

Frame rate mode  : Constant

Is this relevant? Above my pay grade.

I see that it is constant. I wonder why it reports 1,000.00 fps in his first screenshot, though.

OK, does this issue only happen with this media file, or does it do this on everything you put on the timeline?

It does this with everything I put on the timeline.

J.S wrote on 1/3/2022, 8:28 PM

Thank you very much for your willingness to help! I have tried changing that as well but unfortunately the problem remains ...

@J.S This is a different clip?

So 'when I try to edit some videos' means it does this to other imported media?

Do some imported media's work ok & some others don't work ok?

I have tried it with different clips, but none of them worked so far. Every time I import some media on the timeline, after some seconds the problem appears.

@J.S I don't know why you are having the playback problems, but your file is very interesting, It is one of the smoothest easy to scrub through 1080P50 video I have ever used in VegasPro as far as screen recordings while leaving GPU DECODE on. What software did you use, and what encoding method, cpu or NVENC?

Is this the original recording or a transcode?

@Musicvid - I solved your "wonder" 😉. In the first ScreenGrab, he didn't select any Video, he Selected the Text GenMed.

Do that, and I also get 1,000fps:

But, here's the question why would you think VFR? Is it because of 1,000 fps? I'm always willing to learn. And then he's gone and MediaInfo-ed the Video, which confused me a bit too.

Thanks for your willingness to help. I used VEGAS PRO 19 Trial version. (If that is what you mean ?) As for your other questions, I am sorry but I am not familiar with these technical terms. I am much less advanced than you guys, so I can't answer those Qs unfortunately...

@J.S Your orig pic was 1920 x 1080, no prob there but this pic of yours above is 1888 x 1062, that's a curious size?

Try going to C:\Users\'your name'\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0, delete everything in that folder, relaunch Vegas & will recreate all those files,

Yes, bc my VP14 often reports VFR as 100 or 1000 fps.

Maybe the pic is 1888 x 1062 because i just cut it out of the desktop screen with a tool called ''Snipping Tool''

Ok I will try deleting those files and relaunch VEGAS thanks !

@J.S if you go to Options>Preferences>Video tab, and turn off GPU Acceleration, does that make a difference?

I have tried it, and sadly still the same problem.
