If emoji are a problem the moderators / site admins should disable them. There's no reason for users to attack one another or question motives, creating a disrespectful atmosphere which actually is a violation of forum rules where this is not!

If they're allowed they are fair game to use.

FWIW I don't like them and find they add nothing. If certain types of posts had dedicated emojis (support requests, feature requests, etc.) they'd be visually useful for discerning post content.
