i didn't know DVDA was discontinued.

So, is MAGIX planning to market a similar software for DVD/BluRay authoring?

Very doubtful. Disc burning has been declining and it wouldn't be economical to use resources on it.

It hasn't been available for purchase from Magix Vegas for a while now. Time flies so it may even be two years. Also it's no longer bundled with Vegas products having been "replaced" by Sound Forge.

Thank you for confirming the impression I got. Sorry to see DVDA go away, as I really like it.

@EricLNZ time does not fly that fast even though these days it often feels like it 😐. It happened around late July/early August 2020. For a while after that you could ask MAGIX sales if you wanted to buy it but that option was dropped towards the end of 2020. Some early discussions linked in this comment.

@Ernie-Berger Your DVDA7 will still work.I'm still using it.

You originally posted on the Magix Community forum with a problem and I redirected you here. Do you wish to post your problem details here so we can try to resolve it for you?

AFAIK, VEGAS Support is still available for DVD Architect (7). But try what @EricLNZ suggests.

I've often wondered if time really slips into the future or into the past. But that's just me.

Yes. My DVDA starts the rendering process (project with menus) and then suddenly stops with a warning message saying that there is an error of an unknown nature. How can I determine the cause of such a process-stopping error? I uninstalled DVDA and then re-installed it, but that did not prevent the error message from coming on screen during the rendering process.

I am using a BOXX PC with 64-bit Windows 10.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

@Ernie-Berger Ok let's start.

  1. What are the files you are importing into DVDA
  2. Do you get any warning or notification windows such as telling you a stream will be recompressed
  3. At what stage during the "rendering" do you get the error message.
