Yes if I understand you, give it a new name each time. Don't re-use the same disc name.

Btw... no Capture Video menu choice in Vegas 18.

Have you looked into Options > Preferences > Deprecated Features?

@vkmast My workaround was to use the Customize Toolbar dialog and put it up as an icon next to Render As on the main toolbar... after which it worked as it always has.

Thanks Musicvid for the "give the disc a new name" suggestion. I tried that, and adjusted the Mbps in DVDA up and down (from 3.5 to 8) but DVDA still renders the same size iso file. I've renamed the disc name, and even copied everything over to a new directory and changed all the mpg file names and ac3 file names and deleted the files in the make disc folder and it still renders the same size. I'm missing something. I realize I've dragged this discussion out too long, and will soon end and start a new discussion next time I have a new question.

The Mbps setting in DVDA is only if it has to re-render and also is the bitrate it will render menus or any other elements that need rendering. If your file is compatible, it will not change.

I believe it's just a bitrate cap, not a target.

Thanks so much everybody. I learned a lot.

@Jimbo

Use the Clone DVD2 software to compress the files generated by DVD Architect.

https://www.elby.ch/products/clonedvd.html

They will be compressed with the least possible loss of quality and will be in the exact size to be copied to the chosen DVD media (4.7 or 8.5).

I've been working there for a long time and it always worked.
