Could We Lose The Search Assistant?

@Grazie Edge still has the "Hello friend" thing for me (as does my Android tablet "Questions"), Chrome doesn't now have it (no action from me). Maybe "they" get around to hiding it globally "going forward".

Grazie wrote on 3/9/2020, 12:55 PM

@vkmast - I hope so.

rraud wrote on 3/9/2020, 2:07 PM

It's still there on my iPhone browsers (Safari and FF)... and on my PC, if I disable 'uBlock Origin'.

vkmast wrote on 3/10/2020, 3:46 AM

"Hello friend, I'm back in Chrome as well"...

edit: "Hello friend, sorry I can't decide if I should stay or go"...

Dexcon wrote on 3/13/2020, 7:14 AM

It looks like its changed. It's now "Hello. Do you need assistance?". Its better but it would be much better if it disappeared "exit, stage right" after, say, 5-10 seconds like occurs on many other web sites.

Since more than a week I don't see it anymore, all thanks to the update of the stylish theme for Vegascreativesoftware.info extension in Chrome.😋😃

Click on the X and the "Hello..." part will go away, leaving just the Vegas button, probably until the next login.

@john-brown until the next time you open the forum (max.).

rraud wrote on 3/13/2020, 2:14 PM

I am sure most of us would like the Vegas button to go away as well. I think we know what website we are on. Fortunately uBlock Origin gets rid of that as well.

john-brown wrote on 3/13/2020, 2:18 PM

@vkmast

Correct, same as logging in. Just leave the forum open.

The software has been "enhanced", but not fixed. It will be fixed when I never have to give it another thought.

Just opened the Forum today, and there was no "Hello...," only the Vegas button.

I continue to be pestered by this nuisance-ware.

@john_dennis - And here’s mine looking at your post with the Assistant “Photo-Bombing” my view:

EricLNZ wrote on 3/18/2020, 10:37 PM

@Grazie It's the same for me on my phone but less of a problem on desktop. Losing it isn't the answer, we need to terminate this pest. Magix please...........

"...we need to terminate this pest."

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 3/19/2020, 3:54 AM

Ok, this has gotten dastardly, insidious, and downright evil now. If I enable Ublock to prevent the pest, this forum now breaks my ability to expand jpgs and pngs in comments. Mp4s too. Suddenly the Facebook Magix Group is starting to look pretty good.

wwjd wrote on 3/19/2020, 6:47 AM

on computer, I'm using Chrome with ADBLOCK PLUS with all the settings at their "tightest", and I never see anything related to this thing

Howard-Vigorita wrote on 3/19/2020, 11:18 AM

@wwjd Thanks... I just tested ADBLOCK PLUS on my laptop with FireFox and found that it indeed exterminates the pest if I also select "Block additional tracking" in its settings. Which, unlike UBLOCK, does not seem to disable expanding jpgs, pngs, and mp4s in comments.

great! Honestly, I'd never even seen the pest and had no idea what you guys were talking about hahaha glad it helped. I have not noticed that I am missing anything on other websites

john_dennis wrote on 4/28/2020, 2:41 PM

Since I've lived to fight another day, perhaps, we could move this function to the New Support page?

No one ever seems to go there...

Musicvid wrote on 4/28/2020, 3:32 PM

We know you are paying for this, Magix, but I have had to install blockers on my PC and a new browser on my Android just to keep it from obscuring the BUTTONS I use use every day on your forum pages.

I will personally offer 10 bucks US to help buy out your contract if you will get it the _ _ _ _ out of my way!
