Could We Lose The Search Assistant?

It has also been confirmed that the VEGAS "Support Assistant" overlay in some cases prevents clicking some important buttons. E.g.

Musicvid wrote on 4/28/2020, 4:38 PM

That would be in "all cases" on two operating systems for this user. And now it comes back every 30 seconds. I'm sorry you contracted an incompatible service.

How can I loose it on the Ipad (safari)?

I hope the search assistant is not a try-out of a help function blocking our timeline view in a future VP18 😜

Its always such a relief to exit the forum and go to another site without this irritating bs. It makes it harder to post, edit. Sure, other sites have ads, but i’m not trying to edit on them.

Since Magix isn’t listening to the users wishes, hopefully all users will continue to add to this post and keep it in their face.

There's only one thing worse. Going onto a website for the very first time and a pop-up appears asking for feedback about how much I like their website. How would I know? All I've seen is the homepage for a couple of seconds.

After looking at your comment for a couple of seconds, my feedback on how much I like it is five clapboards.

The search assistant, not so much.

Fortunately the uBlock Origin ad blocker does a great job handling the annoyance, but I hate feeling like I have to use it on one of my fav websites.

Note to self (everyone else please look away -- the note that follows is a reminder for mine eyes only): Figure out a clever, kick-booty signature that suggests I'm completely aware of how to properly and exhaustively party on and that I, in fact, engage in said act on a frequent and spontaneous basis. All joking aside, listing my computer's properties is a futile endeavor. I edit multimedia in a local television station newsroom that has Vegas Pro installed on several machines with widely varied specs. We began editing non-linearly with Pinnacle Studio Version 8. That didn't last long before we upgraded to Vegas Video Version 4, then to Vegas Pro 10.

Now it's trying to circumvent the adblocker browser I installed just so I could see the damn forum on my tablet.

A complete fail.

Dexcon wrote on 6/19/2020, 8:49 AM

There's only one thing worse IMO, and that's when you get off a phone call to a company and are requested to do a "how did we go" survey either at the end of the phone call or the next day via email. The sad thing is that the staff member's job probably hangs on a good response.

I installed a number of browsers on the iPad, including Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Duck Duck Go. I now use Duck Duck Go on the iPad to read the Vegas forum. I haven't been willing to add extensions to my workstation browsers to make this annoyance go away.

There is no setting to disable it AFAIK. The browser add-on uBlock Origin eliminated it for me in FireFox (ESR) and Pale Moon browsers.

Regardless, Magix should get rid of this forking annoyance.

Musicvid wrote on 6/19/2020, 3:19 PM

And you can bet the client server, frase.io, is collecting browser data from you.
